Home is where the hurt is.
Feature film, drama, 90 min.
SYNOPSIS
Romi is a 28 years old wedding photographer surrounded by unsupportive family and friends and whose boyfriend brings down, almost as much as her day-job does. One day during a visit to a gallery opening, Romi meets a mysterious German man, whom after a one night stand with, becomes her imaginary knight in shining armor.
She follows him to Berlin, where she meets a group of characters that help her begin her final attempt at loving and coming to terms with herself.
TRIGGER
In August of 2010 I ran away to Berlin, ending a year long romantic yet abusive relationship.
I was invited to stay at a friends’ while they honeymoon but they canceled their trip and stayed home fighting. I bumped into a childhood friend who became a prostitute and had started using drugs.
I suddenly felt an unexplained urge to visit the Jewish museum and my thoughts were running wild.
What was supposed to be a fun, light and liberating trip turned into an overwhelmingly dark experience.
Like the previous powerful and abusive relationship I had, Berlin took hold of me and hurt me, and I fell madly in love with it.
The short affair with the city led me to write this love\hate story.
